Everything about the day after the Moroccan wedding

On the occasion of the Moroccan wedding, we are so taken by the preparations that the young woman does not think the wedding day . Fortunately, there are the elders of the family who jealously guard the respect for tradition .


The sbouhi(day after marriage), a tradition that continues

It is common in Moroccan wedding celebration the day after the ceremony and the wedding night. A commonly known sbouhi day and that is important for the young Moroccan bride and her family.

Indeed date, and according to ancestral rites customary, the young wife sees granted a gold jewelry, usually a belt offered by her husband as thanks for its purity. On this occasion, the mother of the bride prepares ftour for the young couple and the fact transported in the marital home, accompanied by the elders of the family and married women relatives who are organizing a procession bearing wedding gifts, milk , cakes, dates and a meal for the young couple made meat plum to pastillas among other Moroccan delicacies and specialties.

The family of the young woman brings the meal to attend the presentation of gifts of in-laws and especially the sign of respect and gratitude of the husband reported by this gesture that his bride was pure wedding night. For its part, the bride should also give gifts to his in-laws in a symbol of integration with its new its new family.

Following the Sbouhi, the bride must not leave her marital home before the end of the first week. It can not light a fire or prepare meals at the end of that deadline.
Certainly traditions die hard, especially when it comes to marriage. However, some habits are changing and adopting new trends. And because of this, if some families still follow the ritual of other sbouhi prefer the change!

Thus, the day after their wedding, some young couples choose to hold a small reception for the benefit of their families and close friends at one of the restaurants or even home to thank them for their support and efforts during preparations before leaving later on honeymoon.

The reception begins at lunch and lasts until mid-afternoon. It provides a little music, exchange a few gifts and especially a morning-after brunch meal said to distinguish the wedding feast.

Brunch can consist of dishes from traditional Moroccan cuisine with barbecue, pastilla, roast chicken, etc. and then more modern dishes of Thai, Chinese, French, or otherwise.

After lunch, the couple receives some gifts from relatives and friends and also offers in appreciation, before viewing the wedding video and look at the photos taken during the previous evening. Everything takes place in a relaxed and in good spirits.
